Promoting sustainable food systems in Arlington through education, communication and research.

Our Vision of Urban Agriculture in Arlington

We envision a future of healthy, sufficient and affordable sustainable foods for all in the Arlington community. Farmers markets, community and home gardens all will play a role in feeding our community as well as grocers, restaurants, institutions and suppliers. Maintaining regional food-producing farms is key to fresh, local foods. Governmental policies and regulations, as well as commercial, institutional and individual sustainable food practices, jointly protect and enhance our sustainable food supplies from both within Arlington County and in our region. We anticipate refining this vision as we evolve as an organization in response to changing needs.
